Japanese Byobu Silk Screen

Four-panel Japanese folding screen (byōbu), hand-painted in the traditional kachō-ga (bird-and-flower) style. Four wooden panels that fold inward. The composition shows two ducks over a lily pond, often a symbol of marital harmony. Four brackets allow for this piece to be secured to a wall as art; the piece can also sit on a shelf or piece of furniture with the screen slightly folded to stand upright. 

ORIGIN: 1950-70s based on hardware and construction. Signed by the artist. 

In good vintage condition. Signs of wear as pictured, some patina to the frame as well as minor damage to the art.
