This is a unique style of outdoor lounge chair that continues to improve its comfort over time and use. This is the larger of the two styles we carry, the smaller can be viewed here.
A combination of braiding and weaving techniques were used to create the rattan 'basket,' which is anchored at both top and bottom by carved bamboo rails. This basket seat is supported by a painted iron frame.
John Risley (1919-2001) was an American artist and designer whose work ranged from utilitarian objects and furniture, to sculpture and fine arts.
