The iconic Wassily Chair is constructed of leather or canvas straps stretched across a tubular steel frame—originally inspired by the bends in a bicycle. It was the first chair of its kind in 1925, and it remains a celebrated symbol of modernism today.

Due to the continuous weld of the end caps, stitching pattern and leather quality used, we can determine the authenticity. This piece was sourced from a client with an extensive collection from the 70's however is not able to identify the date of manufacturing based off of the information we have. 

We have worked with a local leather craftsman to replace the leather of the seat with the same veg-tan black cow leather that was originally used. This ensures the piece will live on for years to come without fear of the leather giving out. All other leather pieces used on the armrests and back are from the original chair. Leather has been dyed and conditioned to match continuously throughout.
