Kroken Chaise Lounge

Kroken Chaise Lounge by Christer Blomquist for IKEA, 1979. Upholstered in its original linen, called ‘firehose fabric’. On top of the fabric is a mattress-like cushion with soft padding.

ORIGIN: 1979, Made in Sweden. The first version of Kroken was launched in 1968, and discontinued in 1974 due to being hard to flat-pack. This version was reintroduced in 1979 with a more stylized frame and an easier flat-packing design. 

In the original tweed fabric, a few signs of sun fading on the upholstery of the piece where the cushions sit. Minor wear to the frame, consistent with the age of the item.
